The 50th Regiment, Gordon Highlanders, was Arthur Currie’s Victoria-based militia unit immediately prior to the outbreak of the Great War in 1914. In this image, taken at Willows Camp in Oak Bay, Currie stands in dark uniform near the left end of the assembly. Currie was the unit’s commanding officer.
